Two prompts for the price of one: merging NaPoWriMo’s tanka prompt for today with Joseph’s fourth prompt from last week. They compliment each other rather well. I haven’t seen any crocuses in Chicago yet, but they are a common site this time of year at my parent’s house in upstate New York.
A vanguard crocus
arrives through a field of snow,
insists on color.
A girl could pluck or crush it;
Reverent envy prevents me.
